Sweet pea
The heavenly scent of, Lathyrus odoratus, sweet pea reminds me of when I was young and staying over at my Grandmother's house. It is currently winding its way up the side of the Arbor outside the back door, tiny delicate stems sneaking around the timber lattice.
Do you have any memories evoked by flowers?
Big hugs,
Margie

Hi Margie - sweet peas remind me of visiting my great-uncle in Mountrath in the hot summer of 1976 - he had a beautiful cottage garden full of sweet peas - the scent in the hot sun was amazing.
Will be in touch over the next week or so - hopefully we can arrange an afternoon tea meet up somewhere!

Queen Anne's Lace reminds me of walking with my mother when I was a very little girl. She loved wildflowers. Also, when Mom was little (she's now 95), she used to pick forget-me-nots for her Mother (my Grandma). I like to picture her as a little girl.
The scent of May flowers is my favorite and I find it so rarely anymore.
We grew up in an estate in limerick & people took such pride in their gardens. Our neighbours garden was full of beautiful old fashioned roses, the scent was soooo beautiful. Also we had a huge cherry blossom tree,I just love the sight of one today in spring covered in gorgeous pink flowers, so sweet :D

I grew up in a house in an apple orchard ... the scent of apple blossom takes me right back to my childhood. As does the scent of sweetpeas ... my father grew so many of them. Yours look so pretty :)
Good morning Margie, Your flowers are quite beautiful! I have roses bushes that remind me of my uncle and lilies that remind me of my aunt. I love when they bloom because it brings back so many wonderful memories of them. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day. Charli is sending woof, woofs your way :>)
