Margie and Mr Margie Saturdays 2
Mr.Margie and I set off on our saturday outing with a view to driving over the Slievebloom mountains.
Morris looks so tiny under this majestic oak
It was a grey and rainy day, but our spirits were not dampened, and we had a quick stop to say hello to this herd.
Before long we arrived here Kinnity castle, thinking we might have a cuppa, but as the link shows, the castle was deserted when we arrived.
Big Hugs,
Margie

Cows in the evening
A few weeks ago , just as the sun was setting, and the new moon was making its way above the tree line, I heard some strange sounds in the field behind the house
On further inspection and much to my delight the field was full of cows and their calves, this is a rare experience for us, as in fourteen years of living at Chez Margie, there has always been barley growing in that field. I called Mr. Margie and Leiny out to witness this sight.
Look at this handsome little fella, he was so playful and giddy, excited to be in the wide open spaces, we stayed out watching the fun and games for about half an hour.
On our way back indoors we stopped to admire the honeysuckle, it was in full bloom, and its sweet scent grew stronger just before dusk .
Our neighbour, the farmer, did not leave the cows there for long, moving them along to greener pastures once the bull had paid a visit.
I hope you all have a wonderful week.
Big hugs,
Margie

Margie and Mr Margie Saturdays
The last few Saturdays have been Margie and Mr. Margie Saturdays, one of the days we loaded up the Morris with a picnic basket, a Cath Kidston throw and set off to County Wicklow, driving through the mountains
and ended up at the lakes in Valleymount, with a fine appetite for our salad, bread, cheese and fruit.
The next one we drove to visit friends in County Carlow, whom we had not seen for some time, we walked up the rocky hill at the back of their house and gathered froccans
before walking back along Shannon's Lane, sharing stories and news and promising to see one another before too long.
The lovely foxglove was growing among the ferns all along the roadside, in the mountains and the hills.
Who knows where Margie and Mr. Margie Saturday will bring us next time.
Hugs,
Margie

Happy Weekend
The winner of the Sharing the Love giveaway is Lynn at The Vintage Nest. Deborah at My Moms Work also gets a runner up gift. Congratulations to you both. I really wanted to give everyone who entered the giveaway a gift. Thank you to everyone who entered. I loved reading your comments.
Our garden is full of lilies at the moment, Mr. Margie has been tending them over the winter in the glass house and for the last few weeks outdoors. He has done a great job.
I love the scent of the lilies in the evening, but the weather has been cloudy and raining, not really suitable for sitting outside.
This is the newest edition to our lily family, a dark almost black flower, a lovely contrast to the white callas.
This week I thought I would make something using the Debbie Bliss yarns I bought at the knitting and stitching show last November. Taking colour inspiration from the garden, I am working on these granny squares.
Leiny at Just a Minute and Lady Purple at Rose Loves Purple both started working on toys from the Debbie Bliss Toy Knits book.
Hugs,
Margie

Sharing the Love Giveaway
To celebrate all the joy, friendship and love I have received through my blog and with both Mr. Margie's and my own birthdays near the end of the month, I am having a giveaway. Up for grabs are a Cath Kidston book bag, teacloth and mug, a Margie's Crafts book cover (CK fabric and vintage button), and two of the favors from Mel's recent wedding (also handmade by Margie's Crafts, using some CK fabric, lace and vintage buttons). Please leave a comment and I will enter you in the draw which will take place Saturday July 11th.
Recently I won a giveaway hosted by LuLu at Coastal Sisters, beautifully crafted earrings. This week I received the parcel, you cannot imagine my delight when I opened it up to find the Eiffel Tower earrings and other beautiful handmade gifts with some special notes of love, all wrapped and presented with care. I urge you all to visit the Coastal sisters Etsy shop to see LuLu's and Lisa's work, there is a sale on there now. (LuLu, Thank you very much for your generosity and kindness. Your work is a pleasure to behold on line and even more so in real life).
Good luck everyone,
Hugs,
Margie
