Que sera, sera.
We’ve experienced another year since we said goodbye to Margie. Now, it’s been nine years and this year was full of family gatherings: big, small, short or sad, we made the most of those moments and kept our Margie in our conversations and our thoughts throughout the year.
In October, Leiny and Pepijn met Iris, Romy’s new daughter, and the Delaney cousins had a wonderful catch up.
Then, we said goodbye to Margie’s dad, Joe in January. Our family gathered together to share our memories with a heartfelt eulogy by two of Joe’s grandsons -and Margie’s nephews- Cole and Lir.
In March, Mel, Chris and the girls travelled back to Ireland and celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with our extended family and introduced some of their friends to Mel’s Irish heritage. Margie’s newest grandson, Reuben, was also born in March. It was time for new schools this year with Margie’s eldest grandchild, Isla turning 14 and starting High School and Pepijn starting Primary School. The early starts bring back memories of Margie waving us down the lane or hugging us goodbye at the bus stops and train stations.
