Autumn harvest and knitting

This beautiful hollyhock has been flowering for weeks, and is visible from the kitchen window. I love that rich colour.

I harvested the last of the grapes from the greenhouse, they are small but so sweet and juicy.

I had to attend college last weekend, and stayed over at a really beautiful Bed and Breakfast, Samuel's Heritage in Waterford. I had apple pie and tea on arrival, and a wonderful fresh local produce breakfast next morning. I really enjoyed the hospitality, the view, the peace and tranquility, and I slept really well. Susan, the owner and hostess, was very friendly and helpful. I even managed to finish my Sublime organic merino dk cardi, I just love the colour and the softness. Now all I have to do is press it out and find the right button. I am thinking a wooden hand made one would be good. Any ideas?

Big hugs,

Margie

What lovely flowers! I think the name is sweet and lyrical--hollyhock...
The grapes look yummy, and the thought of apple pie and tea makes me hungry!
Wooden buttons are the perfect accent for sweaters.
Have a great weekend.

The hollyhocks look beautiful beside the crimson sumac. I so enjoy sumac for the color they provide in autumn. Other times, not so much.

Your handmade button idea sounds perfect. Oh my, that sweater is gorgeous. Glad that you had time away and that you had someone looking out for you so well. It sounds lovely.

Thank you, too, for giving me more information about your corner as regards the vardos. I love those things and as I always say, if they only had Goodyear tires, I could happily strike off.

I also enjoyed reading about the family joke. I am an easy target for my family lately as well. They tease me thinking they are being oh so subtle. Say, kids, I'm sitting right here and my ears still work! ☺

I came over from Vee's blog as I love Ireland and I am always looking for bloggers from your country.

I visited Waterford a few years ago --right before the famous factory ceased making their beautiful cut glass. :(

I think wooden buttons will be perfect. Apple pie to greet you sounds very cosy & friendly.

I noticed your lovely Sumac tree... I have one which is the desendant of the one in the garden I grew up in - mum took one every time we moved & now I have one in my own garden related to the first !

Thank you for the comments on the canoe trip. We had a nice day to paddle on the river. I was using my Ipad, and when I thought I hit "publish," I hit "delete" :^( Sorry about that! I'm back on my keyboard!

Do publish a photo of the sweater when you add the button.
