Spring Fever

Look at who was sitting tight on the nest this morning. This hen is a light sussex breed and is seven years old. Every year when she has laid 12 or 13 eggs she sits tight in an effort to hatch them. Within 21 days the chicks hatch out. Over the years we have had some great hatchers including a hen who hatched out duck eggs.

Leiny (Marjolein) is still working away on her piece for her end of year exhibition, her work and that of her fellow students can be seen at Exit Persued By A Bear.

hugs

What a gorgeous little hen. And sounds like a goodun!
We had a lot of fun for Earth Hour... really makes you think. Can't wait to find out how successful it was in terms of the 1 billion people they hoped for.

Hi Margie, I really enjoy reading about your birds. Spring is almost here. The grass is so green and with the mild temperatures we are due to get this week, it will bring out all the flowers on the flowering trees. Everything is so fresh and new. I love it. ~ Lynn

Margie, incredible, the Eiffel Tower felt down this afternoon. It might be too old.

jojo-caramel said...

... Yes at five O'Clock precisely (just for tea time), our Eiffel Tower felt down !!!! Experts said that it was too old and as they were about to repaint the Tower for a for the cost of 4 millions euros. They were supposed to use a special secret color “the Eiffel Tower's Brown” (the same color since 1968) They were supposed to need 25 painters for a surface area of 250.000 m2 (9 842,5197 inch2)...

The good news is that we will make a very big economy with the painting :)

Have a look at the tower for the last time : http://www.tour-eiffel.fr/index.html)
