One year later

McCall's Farm
Leiny found this poem among Margie's writings (written 20 years before)

McCall's Farm, Calverstown

The long armed chestnut
kissing barren ground
beneath leafy branches
waits for me.
That forgotten bridge
which once stood over
a torrent of water
invites my contemplation.
The young oak saplings
bursting to absorb the sun
lure my caress.
I will lie down
in your luscious grasses
and embrace the sky.

June '95.
By Margaret Delaney Wouters.

Spreading Margie's ashes among the roots of her oak tree on McCall's Farm

Oh Leiny, I just saw this moving post today. couldn't bear to revisit Margie's blog. Already more than a year ago, still so sorry. Thank you for sharing (my father passed this August and his ashes were buried below a tree, so comforting). Best wishes from Glengarriff, Co. Cork. Eliane

Thank you for sharing this. I can not bear to remove Margie's blog from my blog roll so found this post (these months later) in that way. I was just going to visit here and read Margie's words and see her work and her family whom she loved so dearly. I feel blessed to have found this post as well.
